I recorded during the past summer a composition for large ensemble called The Art of Flying. The work is inspired by the movements of murmurations. Large group of birds fly together without the need of a leader, creating beautiful shapes and structures. The composition alternating between fully written sections and group improvisations reflects on our ability as musicians to communicate in a democratic way, placing the collective musical direction above the individual.
The recording session was intense and made me learn a lot. I’m looking forward to share more with you.
